Lekki, Ikoyi and Dolphin Estate Residents Asked To Pack Their Load
Lagos state building owners will not hear word. Word, they will not hear. Some estate owners decided that it is not enough to build houses on solid ground, they decided it was best to build on drainage channels.
Drainage channels o!
The rains are upon us and this means that free flow of water in drainage pipes in those areas is being hindered.
In a statement concerning the incident, Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Babatunde said the lawless activities of some people was constantly putting lives and property of other residents at risk.
The affected areas are Lekki, Ikoyi, Dolphin Estate, Ilubirin, Ogpmbo, Ikota and others.
“In view of the grievous consequences of compromising drainage right of way and alignment, Lagosians are hereby warned to henceforth refrain from this illegal act, report perpetrators and cooperate with the Lagos State Government in its bid to achieve a flood-free, clean and livable state,” Adejare said.
Lagos building owners, did you hear? You all should hanlele, pack your load and go and stop complicating matters for the general public.
