We are drowning
If you live in Nigeria, the economic recession is the extra presence in 80% of the homes.Things are hard, that’s an undeniable fact. Things have been hard for a lot of people in a long while. Yet, things are somehow harder now. I know I speak for a lot of people. The dollar has taken a downward plunge and Nigerian businesses are crumbling especially those that rely on imports or foreign items for production.
I’ll be frank. I used to believe in this country but now I’m not so sure. I believe in Nigerians and the ways they have devised to free themselves and their countrymen from poverty. There is a reason I hardly engage in political discussions anymore. I. AM. TIRED and things have refused to change. We come on social media, fight and then go back to our realities. During election period, we come out in droves; but the inconsistencies and rigging remain with us for another 4 years until the next politician gives us rice or roasts corn in public. In Nigeria, the bad guys mostly win irrespective of what the good guys do. The rot has eaten deep into the system.
I am going to take a step. I don’t need to have political ambitions to make a difference. I am starting a campaign to promote Nigerian businesses from now till the end of the year. I plan to pick a few and promote them. Some friends have assisted in one way or the other.
Now, I am throwing it open…All I ask is that you support these businesses by liking their social media pages, spreading the word and patronizing their businesses. This is the way I plan to do my bit to help as many Nigerian youths as possible.
I am starting with the following businesses:
A food store with over 10 vendors that deal in packaged food ingredients and items.
A graphic design firm. They do all kinds of designs and logos.
A music management company managing the multi talented Kelvin
You can start by liking their pages on Facebook, twitter and Instagram, spreading the word and patronizing them.
